However IT staff responsible for system support and upgrades as well as external SAP consultants face a challenge to get a deep understanding of a new release, its advantages, constraints and features. As a result many companies stay with their old installed base which is familiar to them and fail to profit from SAP innovations.<\/p>\r\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\r\n\r\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\r\n<p>This article aims to help you getting a hands-on experience with\u00a0 SAP S\/4 HANA on-premise trial. Here is a step-by-step procedure which allows you to access a trial system with full functionality for 30 days in less than an hour.<\/p>\r\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\r\n\r\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\r\n<p>The approximate costs of the usage will be ca. \u20ac6 per uptime hour. Small additional costs apply for storage in the downtime hours. Disclaimer: we do not guarantee that the costs of the usage will stay in this range.<\/p>\r\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\r\n\r\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\r\n<p><strong>I. Cloud Account at\u00a0Amazon\u00a0Webservices<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\r\n\r\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\r\n<p>1) create a free account at Amazon Webservices <a href=\"http:\/\/aws.amazon.com\">here<\/a>. For this step you will need payment details, e.g. credit card.<\/p>\r\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\r\n\r\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\r\n<p>2) Go to \u201eMy Security Credentials\u201c and generate a pair of access keys for a region near you. The region eu-west-1 (Irland) e.g. is\u00a0 recommended for users in Germany. You will need both keys to create an SAP instance later.<\/p>\r\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\r\n\r\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\r\n<p>3) Go to \u201eServices\u201c \u2014&gt; EC2 \u2014&gt; Instances and launch the first available instance on the top of the list for the region eu-west-1 (Irland) without selecting any instance type. After this step you will see an available instance under \u201eInstances\u201c and a storage volume attached to this instance under \u201eVolumes\u201c<\/p>\r\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\r\n\r\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\r\n<p><strong>II. SAP\u00a0Trial\u00a0system\u00a0at\u00a0SAP\u00a0Cloud\u00a0Appliance\u00a0Library<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\r\n\r\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\r\n<p>4) Go to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sap.com\/cmp\/oth\/crm-s4hana\/s4hana-on-premise-trial.html\">SAP S\/4 HANA Trial page<\/a>\u00a0and select \u201c30 day trial&#8221;. You will be forwarded to SAP Cloud Appliance Library. (SAP CAL) Register yourself for free as a new user or logon with an existing s-user. By accepting the Terms and Conditions your trial period will start.<\/p>\r\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\r\n\r\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\r\n<p>5) Under Solutions go to \u201eSAP S\/4 HANA 1809 on-premise\u201c and select \u201eCreate instance\u201c with advanced mode. Assign Amazon Webservices as cloud provider, enter the AWS access key and secret key from step 2), select the region eu-west-1 (Irland), define the password, deselect \u201eRemote desktop\u201c and \u201eBI\u201c. At the end click \u201eCreate Instance&#8221;<\/p>\r\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\r\n\r\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\r\n<p>6) Under \u201eInstances\u201c a new instance for SAP S\/4 HANA will appear with a status \u201ePreparing\u201c. The preparation of the connection will take approx. 30-60 min.
